Now in its 24th year, the CONNECT MIP Awards are to San Diego's technology industry what the Academy Awards are to the movie business. This high profile event attracts more than 800 of San Diego's business leaders, researchers and capital providers, offering access to some of the most cutting-edge technology being commercialized in San Diego.
Of the 100+ companies that vie to be the Most Innovative New Product of the year, 24 make it through the rigorous judging process and only eight walk up to the podium to receive this prestigious honor. On December 9, 2011 find out which innovations will make a worldwide impact in the event's following categories:
Action and Sport Technologies
Aerospace and Security Technologies
Clean Technology
Communications and IT
Hardware and General Technology
Life Sciences - Diagnostics and Research Tools
Life Sciences - Medical Products
Software
In addition to these eight awards, a highlight of the event includes the recognition of two extraordinary individuals with the Distinguished Contributions Awards in Life Sciences and Technology and the presentation of the prestigious William W. Otterson Award. The Otterson Award continues the legacy of CONNECT's first executive director, Bill Otterson, and recognizes technologies or products developed in San Diego that have demonstrated a significant impact on our society or quality of life.
